Too Late for Ice Cream Sandwich?

Or too early since it’s only the last week of April. I’ve been waiting impatiently for Android update for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. It had Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) when my husband purchased it about a year ago. I attempted to do manual update that I found from other websites but I ended up not doing it. It seemed complicated and too advance to me. My husband is more patient than I am and he would just tell me to wait. The waiting took so long until I gave up and planned of buying the recently released Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

Last week, when I thought of moving pictures from my Galaxy S III to my PC it just popped in my mind to check Samsung’s website and see if there were updates coming for my phone. It was then I saw that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 had been sent an update. I thought it would never ever got any update because the tab was nowhere to be found on the website. It said that the update was released on 4 April 2013. My husband succeeded to update my tablet pc. As soon as he’s done he said to me, “You’ve got Ice Cream Sandwich on your tab.” Awesome!

ICS for Samsung Tab 7.7

I’ve been playing with it for a week now and I must say there’s a big difference between Android 3.2 and 4.0. It’s smooth and faster now. So far no lagging. The apps that I could not download before due to compatibility issue are now in use. Even if it’s only 4.0 and way behind 4.1.2 that’s in my phone it gives my tab an uplift and slicker UI. I guess I’ll have to hold on to it and put the Galaxy Note 8 on hold. Hahaa!
